Fan Dipole with chop sticks

Here's a fascinating idea for a multiband HF dipole antenna using old ethernet cable and some chopsticks.  If you have these supplies in your ham shack or can find a few pairs of chopsticks from your last take-out meal, then the project is nearly done.

Simon Stribling (VA7BIX) takes us through the process of designing, assembling, testing, and using this "tasty" version of the popular fan dipole HF antenna.

Assembly is quite simple.  If you're creative in your search for materials, you could save a good amount of money.
