A properly installed mobile HF antenna, complete with a ground radial/counterpoise system and good quality coaxial cable, can often be a good substitute for a permanent full-sized dipole or vertical antenna. David Casler (KE0OG) discusses the pros and cons of using mobile antennas for your base or home ham radio station.
