As Walt states, this antenna is a basically "hack, wack, tape, and get on the air." Most of the materials for this simple vertical antenna can be found at the nearest hardware store or building supply outlet.  Online sources can also be used if supplies aren't available in your area. If you can't erect a full-sized 1/4 wavelength vertical antenna for the 40 meter Amateur Radio Band, please try this linear loaded vertical from Colin (MM0OPX). Colin says this modified vertical can match the performance of a standard 1/4 wavelength vertical antenna. This antenna can find a place at your home station or in the field for portable operations. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6up_Yc6I1o. Here are some comments from Colin (MM0OPX): Demonstration of a linear loaded 1/4 wave vertical amtenna that shows (at least) in modeling that it is as efficient as a full size 1/4 wave. Here's another great "hidden antenna" project using the natural gifts of your back yard. In this video from "Tech Minds" we see how a common backyard fence and natural vegetation can turn into a "stealth" antenna for next to no cost. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sI71uD9vEpc. Here are comments from "Tech Minds": Here we attempt to conceal a multi-band HF Antenna and then test its results compared to an EFHW. Please check out my NEW Tech Related YouTube channel called "Matts Gadgets". If you would be so kind to give it a sub and watch the first video it would be MOST appreciated! If you are hard-pressed to find a multiband HF antenna for your small urban lot or garden area, please consider the popular "Rybakov Antenna." According to Tim (G5TM), this vertical HF antenna is ideal for limited spaces, and can be built with locally available materials. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odWQKiLYY5o. Here are some comments from Tim (G5TM): Let’s have a good look at the Rybakov antenna. Build one and see how it works. Connect with my channel by subscribing and commenting. Here's a rather unusual antenna for those willing to experiment with kite-supported antennas.  The key to this antenna is an equal length sloping wire and horizontal wire supported by a parafoil kite. Thanks to Stan Gibilisco (W1GV) for this idea. ----- Thanks for joining us today. Aloha es 73 de Russ (KH6JRM).

A 6 meter two element beam for restricted spaces.

Here's an interesting 6 meter antenna project from Hayden Honeywood (VK7HH). Hayden introduces us to a 6 meter, 2-element beam based on an original design from the late Les Moxon (G6XN). Moxon antennas are inexpensive, easy-to-build, and exhibit modest gain over a dipole antennas. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6MUSeI1Kh8. Here are a few comments from Hayden (VK7HH): Our Field Day is coming up, so we decided to build one for the 6 meter band and demonstrate the fun that can be had building and experimenting with antennas! This is a Moxon antenna and it is a popular directional 2 element beam antenna that takes up less space (70%) than a standard yagi.
