Although the antenna is not full-sized, it performs almost as well as a full-length horizontal dipole. Antennas of this type are useful for those radio amateurs living in deed-restricted homes or on small city lots.   How hard is it to fit an efficient 40 meter dipole antenna into a small, often awkward urban lot? This seemingly impossible task can solved with this beautiful adaptation by Tim (G5TM). Some #12 gauge wire, a few lengths of 450-ohm ladder line, and a suitable feed line, will enable you to "squeeze" that large 40 meter dipole into a much small space.
