Here's another great amateur radio accessory for your antenna experiments.  Dave Tadlock's (KG0ZZ) Coaxial Cable Tester is an easy way to check PL-259 connections and trace problems in patch cables.  Test your antenna cables now and see just how much loss is occurring between your rig and antenna.  Lots of good, practical advice in this video.
