Effective Indoor Antennas.

Here's another excellent tutorial from "QST" columnist David Casler (KE0OG). In this video, David answers a viewer's question about indoor antennas.  David does an excellent job of explaining the theories behind and construction practices used in making indoor antennas. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bxq1xhu4mLI Here are some comments from David (KE0OG): Peirre, KM4WSJ, lives in Florida and is often victim to powerful lightning and thunder storms and is forced to disconnect his antenna. His question to Dave, Can you recommend a homebrew antenna that I could use indoors and could switch from the outdoor to the indoor during thunderstorms? Subscribe:     / davecasler   . HAM RADIO: Simple Multi-Band Vertical Antenna.

Image
Here's another interesting vertical antenna idea from Tim (G5TM). In this video, Tim experiments with a "mini version of the "classic" W3EDP (H. G. Siegel--SK) antenna featured in the May 1936 edition of "QST". If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfd5gynadqo Here are some comments from Tim (G5TM): The W3EDP design is a well regarded antenna. So what about it’s mini (1/4 size) version? A real “slap it up and get on the air antenna.” Connect with my channel by subscribing and commenting. ----- Thanks for joining us today. My home HF antenna solution-160-10 on a small lot.

In this video from Kevin Loughin (KB9RLW), we consider a variety of antenna configurations for covering the 160m-10m Amateur Radio bands. According to Kevin, a well-designed end fed wire with an excellent ground radial/counterpoise system can provide excellent HF multiband coverage from a small urban lot. Kevin discusses the theory and practical applications of end fed wires used in restricted spaces.  Kevin uses his home station antenna to show how this multiband capability is done.
