If you're looking for a lightweight HF antenna for the upcoming ARRL Field Day (last full weekend of June), please consider this idea from Jonathan Charles. Jonathan attached a spiderbeam to a telescoping mast in a fairly easy way and got good performance from the temporary antenna site. If you can't see the video, please go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZbhP3mBO-Yk Here are some comments from Jonathan: How light can you make a spiderbeam and still make it work? This is my experiment to create a simple antenna and telescoping Mast at minimal cost for Amateur Radio Field Day. ----- Thanks for joining us today. Aloha es 73 de Russ (KH6JRM).

The best multiband HF antenna for limited spaces

Image
If you don't have the space to erect a full-sized multiband dipole antenna, please consider this vertical antenna from the DX Commander, Callum (M0MCX). In this presentation from the "Ham Radio DX" video channel, we get an excellent review of this multiband vertical antenna. If you can't see the video, please go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOBgqFYhV6I Here are some comments from the video: I've not had the room for a full size HF antenna such as a dipole, or even a G5RV. So I got myself a DX Commander All Band Vertical from Callum - the DX Commander and WOW! This antenna is so simple and allows me to operate on EVERY HF band using only a small footprint in my yard. Verticals can traditionally be known as noisy antennas too, so I show HF noise levels at my new QTH. DX Commander Build video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiDB5...
