This is post 2673 in a continuing series of simple ham radio antennas.

As Gregg (KG5OCW) points out in this video, you don't need costly antenna systems to work portable operations.

Gregg show us how to use inexpensive, readily available speaker wire to make an effective HF antenna.  These antennas are suitable for both home and field use.

I leave my usual Buddistick behind to try out the speaker wire antenna up my favorite local S.O.T.A. peak and try an activation. After much twitter debate, how well does this antenna actually work? I will find out with 10 watts and a little altitude.
