Here's a simple, inexpensive 4-element 70 cm tape measure yagi antenna suitable for any portable or field operation.

"Fuzz The Pi Guy" does an excellent job of explaining the theory behind this antenna as he shows us how common, readily available materials can be used to make an effective, efficient antenna.  The same procedures outlined in this video can be scaled for the 2 meter ham band, allowing, of course, for the larger dimensions found on that band.
