Tape Measure EFHW portable QRP antenna experiment

Radio Amateurs have used a variety of materials for emergency and portable antennas.  Among the choices available for such antennas is the readily available and fairly inexpensive steel tape measure.

In this video, Paul (OM0ET) experiments with an EFHW HF Antenna using the common metal tape measure. While the steel used in the tape measure is not the ideal radiator, it does work and will provide a usable field expedient antenna.

Here are some comments from Paul (OM0ET):

I had an idea to try to use the tape measure as an antenna :) I decided to do this experiment, despite I am not sure if the steel is material good enough for the antenna purposes. The cost of all components used for this project did not exceed 20€. In the next video, I would like to test this antenna if it works or not, so I am very curious :D - similar steel 50m Tape Measure: https://www.thetapestore.co.uk/fisco-... #TapeMeasureAntenna #EFHWantenna #QRPantenna
