If you need a reliable, simple, effective HF antenna for local, state, and regional operations, please consider this design from Tim Carter (W3ATB).

The antenna uses Near Vertical Incident Skywave (NVIS) to maintain strong local signals.  Depending on propagation, the effective range for NVIS antennas can reach almost 300 miles/486 kilometers.
