This 3D Printed Satellite Antenna is fantastic!

How would you like to receive L-Band signals from a dish you made at home? If you have access to a 3D printer and a few simple parts, you can track signals from NOAA, Meteor, and other weather satellites from your ham station. Gabe Emerson of "saveitforparts" website takes you step-by-step through the design, production, testing, and use of this useful L-Band antenna. Here are some comments from Gabe: This is a 3D-printable "Helicone" antenna for L-Band (NOAA, Meteor, and other weather satellites). It's available on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:643... It works just as well as my larger L-band satellite dish! And it's much easier to use hand-held for tracking Low-Earth-Orbit satellites. You'll also need an RTL-SDR and an L-band filter/ampl...

Locating HF noise source without special equipment.

Nothing is more annoying during a contact than to have noise and static disturb your efforts. In this video, Kevin Loughin (KB9RLW) show us a simple way to find HF noise and interference in your home or near your ham station. Most of the tests don't involve complicated equipment or equipment modifications.  Kevin's method will find the causes of your noise, be it poorly shielded power supplies, flickering lights, or something involving your circuit breaker. Here are some comments from Kevin (KB9RLW): (I know someone's going to comment, but obviously, you have to put your radio on a battery to do this!) A very simple and relatively quick way of finding offending RF noise sources on the house. If you like my videos, please subscribe here: http://www.youtube.com/user/loughkb?...
