Kite antenna HF portable during national parks activity weekend

If you lack a good antenna support for that upcoming portable operation, please consider this idea from Australian radio amateur Peter Parker (VK3YE). A few years ago, Peter participated in a national parks activity weekend using a kite to support his wire antenna.  He got good results from this experiment.  The video discusses how he set up his "kite mobile" antenna and what kind of results you can expect from this antenna system. If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcjTUIjYNVs Here are some comments from Peter (VK3YE): QRP on 80, 40 & 20m with a kite-supported wire antenna. Building a 2 meter Dipole Antenna from a broom

Image
A truly inspiring antenna project from Drew and his daughter Hannah as they create a functioning 2 meter dipole antenna made from a broom handle, some coax, wire, pvc pipe, and a few assorted pieces found in their home.  If you can't see the video, please insert this title URL into your browser search box:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DMmtiM3pLIo Here are some comments from Drew and Hannah: We built a 2m dipole antenna out of a broom handle, pvc and some other small pieces that we had laying around the house. Ham radio is such a wonderful hobby in part because simple builds like this are possible. No need for complicated and expensive builds... unless you want to! This amateur radio antenna's SWR turned out to be between 1.2 and 1.5 across the whole band, so not too bad.
