I installed a HUGE 90m (300ft) wire loop on the ground for HF receiving

If you want an extremely quiet receive antenna for the lower HF bands (160-80 meters), then this experimental design from Callum (M0MCX) may interest you.  I used similar designs at a home I owned in the rural Puna District of Hawaii Island and was surprised just how noise free the antenna worked on 80 meters.

I even used a large receive loop on my property to tap into MW signals on the AM broadcast band with excellent results.

Here are some comments from Callum:

Amazing 90m loop with 4:1 balun. How does it compare to the smaller Loop On Ground? That video is here: https://youtu.be/7n29t-wjpG0 More tests to follow. See what you think. Callum.
