Are you looking for a way to improve the range and performance of your 2m/70cm hand-held HT? Then this video from Sebastian (KF5OBS) may be what you need.

The solution to the poor performance of the stock "rubber duck" antenna is simple:  just add a "tiger tail" or counterpoise wire to the base of the HT antenna.
