This is post 2488 in a continuing series of simple ham radio antennas.

Thanks to K1 GMN for this compact, inexpensive portable ground plane antenna for the 20 meter Amateur Radio Band.

This easily-assembled antenna system is perfect for "field operations" or in a neighborhood governed by HOAs and CC&Rs.

Why not make one of these simple antennas for your emergency "go-kit?"

Here are some general comments from K1GMN:

Dx'ing using a homebrew 20 mtr gp antenna with a FT857D running between 60-75 watts. This thing works great! UPDATE: The mount has been changed to a 1" pvc tube u-bolted to the stand. Assemble the 102" whip and the 3/4" copper tube and drop it into the tube. Super stable and much stronger. Music by K1GMM
